On how the Divine Feminine, Cannabis, and the Sirius Connection Reawakened the Cosmic Harmony
A few years back, a fascinating story came to my awareness. This is a tale from another star about a precious gift from the Goddess to help humanity and the world. Today, this story, which I feel a deep personal connection to, came back into my life and I felt compelled to share it. I hope I am doing it justice.
The tale is a profound story about a powerful spiritual being who took the form of a green plant and descended on our planet from a faraway star called Sirius. Sirius, also known as the Dog Star or Sirius A, is the brightest star in Earth's night sky. It is a celestial beacon that fills us with awe and wonder. The name means "glowing" in Greek—a fitting description, as only a few planets, the full moon, and today the International Space Station outshine this star. Because Sirius is so bright, it was well-known to ancient civilisations on Earth. One day, the beings who inhabited Sirius aeons ago decided to commune with the beings who lived on planet Earth. Some of these ancient people were the ones of the Dogon Tribe of Mali, West Africa. The tribe is renowned for its rich cultural traditions and complex cosmology, which have fascinated scholars and spiritual seekers for generations. Among their many captivating stories is a unique tale regarding the origin of Cannabis, a plant that, within Dogon “mythology”, holds a deep connection to their spiritual beliefs and cosmological understanding, fostering a sense of connection and unity.
According to the Dogon Tribe, the story of the Sacred Being Cannabis begins with the Nommo, a group of mysterious, amphibious beings who play a central role in the Dogon creation “myth”. The Nommo are regarded as ancestral spirits and are often depicted as half-human, half-fish entities. They are believed to be the first living creatures created by Amma, the supreme Creator of the Dogon, who is both the creator of the universe and the orchestrator of cosmic order.
The Nommo were sent to Earth by Amma to guide and instruct humanity, bringing with them knowledge and wisdom from the divine realm. Their dual nature, capable of existing both in water and on land, symbolises the balance between the physical and spiritual worlds. The Nommo are also associated with water, a source of life, fertility, and the flow of spiritual energy.
In Dogon mythology, Cannabis is not just a plant but a sacred gift brought to Earth by the Nommo. It is believed to possess profound spiritual properties, its origins directly tied to the arrival of the Nommo. This belief in Cannabis's divine origins serves as a sacred link between humanity and the divine, an intriguing concept that connects us to Dogon's spiritual journey. The Dogon people believe Cannabis was intended to assist humanity in several critical ways. It was to be used in religious rituals, serving as a conduit to the spiritual world, a means of connecting with the divine energies embodied by the Nommo. Additionally, Cannabis was seen as a powerful medicinal herb, a belief that reflects the Dogon's deep understanding of nature's healing properties. Cannabis use in Dogon ceremonies is thought to facilitate communication with the Nommo themselves. Individuals could transcend the physical realm by partaking in this sacred plant, accessing the wisdom and knowledge that the Nommo had imparted to humanity. This connection, essential for maintaining the harmony between the human world and the cosmic order established by Amma, emphasises the importance of balance in Dogon culture.
Within Dogon culture, Cannabis is far more than just a plant; it is a potent symbol of divine wisdom and spiritual connection. Its use in religious rituals underlines its sacred status, bridging the earthly and the divine. Cannabis's origin story ties it directly to the interventions of the Nommo, highlighting its vital role in Dogon society and demanding that it be treated with the utmost respect. This story is woven into the broader tapestry of Dogon beliefs, encompassing intricate astronomy knowledge, a complex system of symbols, and deep spiritual practices. The Dogon people are known for their sophisticated understanding of the cosmos, including their famous knowledge of the Sirius star system, which they attribute to the teachings of the Nommo.
The reverence for Cannabis within the Dogon culture is just one aspect of their profound connection to the natural and spiritual worlds. Their belief in the sacredness of plants, the importance of nature, and the need to maintain balance and harmony between the spiritual and physical realms is central to their way of life. In particular, the deep respect and reverence for the Nommo reflect the Dogon's profound understanding of the universe as a complex, interconnected system where every element, from the stars in the sky to the plants on the earth, plays a vital role in the cosmic order.
In this way, the Dogon myth of Cannabis origin is not just a story about a plant but a reflection of a broader cosmology that emphasises the interconnectedness of all things, a belief that all elements of the universe are interconnected and dependent on each other, and the importance of living in harmony with the divine forces that shape the world.
The Dogon Tribe's myth about the Genus Cannabis is not just a story but a profound spiritual narrative. It holds a significant place in how this magical and spiritual plant was revered. However, everything changed with the rise of the current patriarchal system, altering the perception of the plant and ushering in a new era of human history.
With the resurgence of the Divine Feminine energy, we are witnessing a profound and long-awaited restoration of balance between the feminine and masculine energies. Once obscured by centuries of imbalance, this sacred equilibrium is now beginning to reawaken within people's wombs, hearts and minds worldwide. These sacred beings, embodying the essence of the Divine Feminine, are re-emerging with an ancient and transformative power. Their subtle yet potent energy is gradually rising to the surface of collective consciousness, awakening a deep remembrance of wisdom that has been dormant for far too long.
As more individuals connect with this sacred energy, they find themselves becoming conduits for healing and change, not only within their own lives but also within the larger tapestry of humanity. This awakening holds the potential for personal growth and transformation, inspiring a profound shift in how we understand and embody the principles of love, compassion, and harmony.
One day, as this awakening reaches a 'critical mass'- a point where enough people have aligned with this higher consciousness- it will catalyse a transformative shift in the world. This shift will not merely change how we live but a profound, spiritual revolution that will redefine our relationships with ourselves, each other, and the Earth.
The rise of the Divine Feminine is not just a return to balance; it is a reclaiming of a sacred power that has the potential to heal and transform the very fabric of our existence.
