My life is not perfect, and that's perfectly fine!

💓🔥My life is not perfect, and that's perfectly fine!🔥💓

Let's take a moment to dispel a persistent and unfair misconception: that women who embrace holistic practices are somehow immune to the symptoms and challenges of menopause.

This topic frequently arises in my yoga classes, meditation circles, one-on-one sessions, and even casual conversations with friends and students.

Often, I hear women say, "Your life must be so easy with everything you do. All the yoga, meditation, and energy work must make menopause a breeze for you."

I smile and gently respond, "It's not."

The truth is, as a woman navigating menopause, I am far from immune to its challenges.

My body, like so many others, is a battleground of fluctuating hormones. Oestrogen is on a wild rollercoaster, progesterone seems to have packed its bags and left, and oxytocin—the hormone that makes us feel connected and nurtured—is at an all-time low. Each day brings new sensations, physical and emotional, that demand attention and care. For instance, the physical pain that comes and goes unpredictably, the mood swings that can turn a peaceful day into a stormy one, and the sleepless nights that leave me feeling drained the next day.

The toll is not just personal; it's multi-layered. Beyond the mood swings, the physical issues, and the sleepless nights, we as women face three significant health concerns during this stage of life:

Osteoporosis – weakening bones that leave us more vulnerable to fractures.

Cardiovascular diseases – heightened risks of heart attacks and strokes.

Cognitive decline – moments of forgetfulness or difficulty concentrating that remind us of the intricate dance between hormones and brain function.

These are real, serious issues. And so, no, my life is not perfect. It takes work. But you know what? That's perfectly fine.

No one has a perfect life.

That's not the goal, nor should it be. Life, in all its rawness and unpredictability, is about embracing imperfection. It's about learning to love ourselves even when it feels hard—because our lives depend on it.

I've spent years cultivating spiritual practices—meditation to quiet the mind, various healing practices to channel healing energy, yoga to maintain physical and mental balance, and countless other holistic and alternative approaches.

These choices have shaped me profoundly. They've helped me manage stress, maintain a sense of balance, and connect with my body and mind in a more profound way. But they don't make me immune to life's challenges. Instead, they've given me the tools to navigate them differently.

The greatest gift of these practices? Awareness.

I feel everything—every tiny shift in my body, energy, and emotions. I hear my body's voice so clearly that it's almost impossible to ignore. I feel the ebb and flow of hormones, the sensations of imbalance, and the whispers of change.

But this sensitivity is not a curse—it's a profound blessing.

Feeling deeply allows me to honour this journey of transformation. I don't resist the changes; I embrace them. I allow myself to experience the full spectrum of what it means to live in a body that's evolving, adapting, and moving through a new chapter.

I want to feel—not in a dramatic or codependent way, but in a grounded, conscious way. Feeling teaches me compassion—not just for myself but for every woman walking this path. It connects me to the shared experience of menopause as a challenging yet beautiful rite of passage.

No, my life is not perfect!

Some days are messy, some nights are sleepless, and some mornings feel impossibly hard.

But it's in these moments of imperfection that I find strength. I am learning to let go of the woman I was and to embrace the woman I am becoming. This process of embracing the 'One' I am becoming is not always easy, but it's a journey I'm committed to, and it's one that I hope to inspire other women to embark on as well.

This isn't just about me. By walking this path authentically—acknowledging the highs and lows, the ease and the struggle—I hope to inspire other women to do the same.

Together, we can move through this phase of life with grace, resilience, and a deep, abiding love for ourselves.

Because, at the end of the day, menopause is not just an ending—it's a beginning. It is a Meno-Start!

It's a powerful, transformative step into a new phase of life where we can truly embrace who we are, imperfections and all. It's a journey of self-discovery and growth.

With Mother's Grace
